Sirius Install in 2005 E320 CDI
Just had the MB install of the Sirius Sat Radio. Car has the Premium Sound system. The quality of the Sat Radio is excellent. Really good bass notes and pretty good highs. I would highly recommend it. Came with a 1 year free service, even though the dealer installed it.

Another item that should have been standard if you ask me. How much? $1000 or so? I found the price a bit high for something I won't use too much.. I seem to keep my radio on the local Classical station KBAQ.

Sirius Install Prices
Think the radio was $799 and 2.5 hours of labor. I got a year free service. The antenna is small and is mounted on the trunk deck, about 4 inches from the window.

Sam, open iTunes on your Mac and listen to radio station WCPE in North Carolina. It's the best classical music station in the country and blows away KBAQ and other public radio stations.

KDFC is a commercial classical station in San Francisco ... probably one of the few remaining. I would imagine that there are several public radio classical stations on the Left Coast, including KXPR in Sacramento.

For those who opted for MBUSA SIRIUS installation "with purchase" I understand the $699 includes 6 months of paid service, has anyone gotten a free subscription in addition (i.e.: 12 months free)?

I got 14 months on my initial installation & activation. I was offered 1 month free for every year I paid in advance with my credit card by Sirius at my year end subscription renewal. I took 3 years got 39months (inclding 3 months free.)

does the MB install for Sat radio provide the RDS type feature that tells you the name of the song, etc... or is it just the name of the station?
I am considering it now, as I have heard good things about it from a few owners.
Also, what is the typical dealer addon price? $600-700?

Sirius install
Quite hard to read my bill, because I also had the hands free phone installed at the same time, but it looks like around $700 for the phone, $62 for the antenna, $21 for an antenna splitter and 2.47 hours labor. When the song is playing, you can select INFO on your Command soft buttons and the name of the song and the artist is shown. You also have the station in your heads up display in the speedometer. You can go on Sirius.com and download a station guide.
