Nope, that's going to be the 2007.

The only change to the E-Class for 2006 seems to be the new E350 engine with 7G transmission. I don't think there is any change at all in the E500.

you guys seem quite sure about 2007, yet the car was redesigned in 2003, doesn't that seem a bit fast for an MB... don't they typically keep a design for 7 or 8 years?

A "facelift' is some slight tweeking of the exterior and or interior that most people that don't drive these cars will never notice. This term is different than a "redesign".....and your correct its way to early for that.

I heard the full redesign will be for the 2009 model year, released in mid 2008.

Ok, I get it now... kind of like with my 2003 Passat got chrome accents in 2002 model year..

The description of the 2009 by Sacguy sounds rather interesting... I just hope they don't go to space age with the body design.

Absolutely, in 2009 (latter 2008) the the w211 e-class sedan becomes the w212. In 2010 (latter 2009) the s211 e-class wagon becomes the s212.

The overriding question is whether SBC will be dropped with the facelift or with the W212.
