Front sills installed...working...and really look great.
Rears...well...that's a different story. One side would not - for the life of me - switch off with the door switch. I tried both lines off the door switch...nothing. The damn thing just stayed on (and yes...I repeatedly tried waiting for it to time out, etc.). The other side...wouldn't work at all.
If anyone has these installed (the formymercedes ones) and can take a pic of how they wired the rears, that would be great.

I ended up wiring my rear sills in with my rear footwell lights. :-) Just finished the right hand side...now doing the left. Wasn't much room to work with with the wires, so I just soldered my new lines right to the brackets for the festoon lights and its working like a champ!

And pictures..... All blue led except for the footwells, map lights (reading lights), and vanity light.
Doing everything in blue is overkill in my opinion...but I like this.

I finally got around and installed OEM "Mercedes-Benz" illuminated door sills on my car. This blue light at night gives the W211 an even more sexy and elegant look than it already have had.
I love this new mod.

Hello,
I have read and reread the instructions on how to install the passenger side door sill. The drivers side went through perfectly. I can't seem to find a 12v power wire in the corner under the dashboard trim.
The instructions call for splicing into a red and green stripes wire. There are three red and green wires as a matter of fact and I have spliced into all 3. There's no power to be had in any of them!
Does anyone know exactly which power wire they spliced into on the passenger side? Would be a huge help

Did you connect it to the cable in the B-Pilar? I think that's all I did. Then the long one hoes into the trunk for power. The door ones are to activate/deactivate them through the door switch.

I did connect the black wire to the Door check located in the B Pillar. From the instructions from the beginning of this thread it says the power red wire hookup is underneath the dash. is it possible to power them without running wires to the trunk?
