What does your Dealer Supply as Loaners?
Just curious what your dealer supply as loaners. The one I go to went from M-Class to C-Class 4matics and now they have E-Class (I think E350s). Still got a C Class today when I dropped off the S for service as the E's were not ready yet.

The general guideline for Smythe is below unless you talk to the saleman and arrange a "demo" in advance. Almost anything goes when it comes to demos.
C Coupe for C, SLK
C320 for E, CLK
E320 for S, CL, SL
S500 for Maybach
C Coupe for C, SLK
C320 for E, CLK
E320 for S, CL, SL
S500 for Maybach

FUNNY....took my car into the house of imports the other day. they give loaners to customers who either purchased the car there, make an appointment, or if the service is going to take longer than 3 hours. Anyhow, there's a enterprise located on-site and they usually give out c230 loaners. However, they just happened to run out that day so they gave me a crappy chevy cavalier with 23000 miles on it. The worst car I have ever driven. But hey I had to get to work some how. When I took it back, they admitted that it was the worst car they had for rent in their fleet. Funny....

I remember when I was in highschool and I had to bring my parents '91 560SEL in for service in the early 90's, my MB dealer used Oldsmobile Cutlass Cieras as loaners.

I think my new dealer in Boston (Herb Chambers) will not give out loaners to people who didn't buy from them. They will send them over to Enterprise.

MB of Greenway always has put me in a C230 (once a C320). They do have some non-MBs, but they always give me a MB, even if most of the others lined up are non-MBs.
I dropped mine off 2 days ago (both left side wheels bent for the second time in less than 6 months!), and there was a new SL55 in front of me. They gave the guy a C320. He didn't look real happy...

This loaner car business really depends on your relationship with your SA. An occasional bottle of wine and a couple cases of beer won't hurt. My old SA didn't like me and switch me to his colleague (there are only two SAs in my dealership). My new SA likes me alot and took good care of my MB since then.

Smythe in SJ gives out C240, C320, E320, and ML500's.
My E has been in the shop for the last 3 weeks off and on. Mostly there though. SW issues. Went back in today because it was not shifing smoothly and power seemed like it was robbed since I got it back on Tuesday night.
Soon it will be fixed and will post pics with the new wheels - not so new anymore.

MB of Long Beach has an on-site Enterprise Car Rental desk. Last time I was in they were pushing American SUV's. I held out for, waited for, and was thrilled to get a Chevy Malibu.
