E320CDI vs E350 brake calipers
Can the '06 brakes be installed on an '05? I rather like the way they look better.

Front - 13.0" ventilated - 4 piston fixed calipers
Rear - 11.8" ventilated - single piston floating calipers
Sometime after June or July they started to ship with the same brake configuration as the CDI:
Front - 12.3" ventilated - single piston floating calipers
Rear - 11.8" solid - single piston floating calipers
I assume that this was all part of a cost cutting initiative by MB.
I was also told by MB that, due to the design of the AWD system, all 4 Matic versions of the E class are produced with the single piston front calipers. I raised this very question when I took delivery of my E350 4 Matic and noticed that the front calipers used a single piston.
Good luck,
Steve
I remember reading a thread about the "cheap" breaks they used in the E350... and I always thought mine seemed different. Maybe thats why... mine have the MB logo.

I have buy the brakes of the SLK AMG and they don't fit.
1.- Backing plates needs to be cut or changed to SLK ones, you can bend them but it's not enought.
2.- Disc holes for bolts on SLK are 13mm because wheel bolts are 12mm; in E disc holes for bolts are 15mm because wheel bolts are 14mm. So you have to make the 13 mm bolts larger to 15mm so the wheel bolts can enter.
3.- The SLK discs are more to the outside than the E ones, then the caliper is too much inside. You have to do new caliper mounting brackets so you can center the callipers with the disc.
4.- Calipers touch 2 mm the suspensión arm. Maybe this is only on airmatic's, but you have to sand 3mm the inside corner of the calliper.
I don't see the way they can fit without big modifications. Are you sure your friend put the SLK discs on a E? I know they are compatible the SLK and CLK, but it's sure that they aren't with E.
Now the problem will be manufacturing new mounting brackets.
Best Regards.
