Folding windshield sunscreen: Where have people here (m)

gotten theirs and for how much? I'm about sick of getting into a car reading "108 degrees" and baking. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Jim

I got my complimentary MBUSA sunshade as a gift from the sales manager upon delivery. It lists for $59 on mbusa.com as an accessory. Try asking for one…

Get a collapsing type...they are easier to store and cost less than 10 bucks at any discount store.

The folding type are too bulky and can sag after a while.

Don't think so. It seems to be the interior, as there (m)

is no way its "118 degrees" outside when the house thermometer says 90. I am hoping a reflector would help. My former BMW, with the temp sensor under the front air dam, was more accurate. THe benz, however, changes fairly rapidly when under motion.

When you get into the car, the temperature displayed is the temperature at the temperature sending unit, near the radiator behind the grill (sort of like an oven). Its 118 degrees there untill you start moving & fresh air blows thru the grille & that NEW ambient temperature is read. That's why as you drive after you've been parked for a while, the temperature display drops a degree every few seconds until it is acttually reading the current actual temperature, not the stagnant "oven" temperature.

116 degrees?

Wow, 116 degrees. I go to Phoenix next week on business. The hottest I've seen in San Antonio was 111; but with the wind chill factor it only felt like 110.

Arrow Save a few $

JWS3: Save a few dollars. Carcover Kingdom has the fitted version (I think they are all from the same manufacturer) for $49. No shipping charge or sales tax.

Had mine in 6 days. Works great, perfect fit, and is well made. Reflective facing surface really lowers the heat in the vehicle.

Web site: http://www.carcoverkingdom.com/cc/sale.php

Only use it on occasion in San Francisco.

I got mine from Heat Shield. It's the roll up kind, good construction and velcro strap... I got one for all of my cars. Web site kinda sucks, but no problems with ordering/delivery.

been in various towns in Texas during sumer, and with the exception of El Paso, they all feel much worse than Phoenix due to the dryness of heat here. Though we've been having some mild humidity which has really made this a miserable town for the past week. It's "Cooling" down into the 105 range when you get here, so don't fret!

On an separate note... I wonder how the interiors of these cars hold up to being baked at in excess of 150 degrees for hours on end... surely it must take a tole on the materials!

30 months - windshield sunshade, sheepskin front seats, rear power sunshade (no tint, no rear side window sunshades)...no problem.
