As predicted back in March, the official date is August 26th.
Auto Spies exclusive: Some cars are already in the states and are being driven by MB reps...Hint: you may want to call your salesperson and ask when the area MB rep is supposed to be at their dealership. As usual the intro of the 4matic and wagon versions of the new model E (w211) will be about a year after the original intro. Figure next summer.
4matic is also going to be available in the C class and S class for 03 (probably will see these around the end of this year)

Actually, the 26th of August is the latest date. We may see them launched as early as the 9th of August, depending on market conditions. I'm still betting on the 15th. ...RAB

Please check my post under Official Production and Release Dates in this forum. FYI, the 02 4M E Class is gonna be released 07-02-02 and the (211) exactly one year later to the date.
