Help reseting service-reminder
I called my dealer and he was no help (surprise!).. but I did my 1000-3000 mile service last week at 2600 miles, and today while driving off my car ticked over to 2901 miles and BANG! the service reminder came on... then again and again every time I started the car.
Is there a way to reset this without going back to the dealer? And should I be worried that they missed this step?
Thanks

Go to the Index in the back of your manual and look under Resetting Service Indicator. It starts on page 300 in the US manual for my 2004 E320. My car has the FSS system but yours must have something similar.

I looked it up on page 345 of the manual and it just says that the info is in the pertinent section of the MB service manual. No end user info in there that I could see. Just how to add service reminders. But thanks anyway.

Here's what my manual says...
In the event that a service on your vehicle is not carried out by an Authorized Mercedes-Benz Center, you can reset the service indicator yourself.
The selection marker is on Full service.
The Service indicator is reset.

As for the service reminder, well I had partial success... I was able to follow your directions exactly but when I reset the confirm menu, I actually reset my 13000 mile reminder, and the 3000 mile reminder remained
I think, I'll just take it down to Schumacher to do it right, like they should have done the first time!
