To answer some of the questions about official launch times for the new coming E Class (211) I am posting Production Startup dates, Earliest Potential Wholesale/Retail Release (EPWRR) and Planned Wholesale & Retail Release (PWRR) dates:

Notes: The earliest Potential Wholesale/Retail realease date is the target completion date. The Planned release date is the most likely release date at this time given the high volume request from MB centers nationwide for the new E Class. Of course this may still change based on "market and business conditions."


I personally have been invited to test drive new E500W and I am thrilled with its handling and quick pick up. The engine is superbly quiet and I am a true believer this is gonna be the one to have. Very solid built.


For those of you Southern Californians who would like to see the car in person (E320W and E500W) before its release date come with your digital cameras to Mariott Hotel in Torrance on June 22nd.

hi johnny2000. I live in so cal and you said I can see the car before the released in june 22nd??? do you mean July 22nd?? b'cause this month is july , if i am not wrong.

Hi again,

I apologize I meant to say July 22nd not June. The cars will be there for hands on training of Salespeople for the Southern California region. The training and Development is for 8 hours and it goes for five days. So if you happen to miss the 22nd you can still "make it" and take some snapshots at the newer E and CLK Coupe. Also, I have heard that customers with ordered vehicles coudl get a special test drive invitation. Contact your sales representative.

Yes I do. By the way the Torrance event goes for the new CLK as well.

Please note first date is for Production start up, the second as the Earliest potential Wholesale/Retail Release, and the last date is for the Planned Wholesale & Retail Release.

Hi JamesP,

To answer your question, No I do not know exact training days for East Coast dealers' empoyee hands on training for the new 03 E and CLK class.

I would call the sales representative and ask when such an event will take place and where. Oftentimes, Sales people are eager to "release" such an information in hopes you will contact them for sales. It surely woked well for me.

I got a call from my sales contact who stated that ordered cars' first batch release is August 1st for the E320W (211) and August 7th for the E500W (211) instead of the August 9th and August 26th as stated earlier.

Thus, Those of us who have placed orders for the earliest release could now contact our sales people to confirm ETA at the MB site.

Vehicle Preperation Centers (VPC) have been introduced to back log time software that reduces the waiting time from 8 days to mere 3 days so that MB dealers now can get their cars distributed faster than ever before.

Little dtails do matter.
