Finally put on my mud guards

My 2006 E500 now has mudguards. Took awhile to get them as I have the appearance package and found that one of the sets is different. Looks nice with black opal. And--it took a bit of time and a couple of different tools--was able to install all the guards without having to take off any of the wheels.

They're made of a not awfully flexible rubberized plastic (if there is such a thing): certainly not just rubber. I don't think they are paintable. It would seem that if the paint adhered, bending of the flaps would crinkle the paint.

Since they are so close to the tires, the black doesn't look out of place on my brilliant silver sedan or the desert silver wagon.

Apparently member levind had his mud guards painted to match the body color: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w211/133316-sunman-parktronic-retrofit.html (post #6). I suggest contacting him for cost & durability concerns.
