Finally put on my mud guards
My 2006 E500 now has mudguards. Took awhile to get them as I have the appearance package and found that one of the sets is different. Looks nice with black opal. And--it took a bit of time and a couple of different tools--was able to install all the guards without having to take off any of the wheels.

They're made of a not awfully flexible rubberized plastic (if there is such a thing): certainly not just rubber. I don't think they are paintable. It would seem that if the paint adhered, bending of the flaps would crinkle the paint.
