Sunman Parktronic retrofit

Sunil (Sunman) installed a complete factory Parktronic system in my car yesterday. The dealer said it was not possible, but Sunil performed the retrofit with ease. The wires are all run in factory wiring channels; the displays, bumper strips, and sensors look factory installed. He programmed the computer with his own DAS system, and it performs perfectly. I am very pleased with the results. I'll post some pictures over the weekend.

Nothing MB related (sorry)
Congrats on the new upgrade! Good to know that Sunil was able to help you out here. I am sure you will do nothing else but parking your car all day.

greetingz,

Could you also post the cost, parts plus the labor charge? Sounds cool... I had that feature in a minivan once and when I first bought it, I thought it was a silly, useless feature. Turned out it was a very cool and useful feature after driving the van for awhile, especially backing up at night.

I don't think it would be fair to post prices since every car will be different depending on what model/factory options were ordered. Contact Sunman or SteveNL for specifics based on your car. I will say that the total was quite a bit higher than if I had ordered the car with the option in the first place!

I will be interested to see the pics... I come to OR for business regularly and may want to look into having this done on my car.

Congrats

I thought the mud guards only come in black. Nice touch matching them to the body color.

Steve did it for something like 85% less!

Sun is as good I understand, so you can be assured that your parktronic is like factory new, or even better. Congrats.

BTW... we have the same color, Platinum blue... Just added my 4th layer of Zaino... it's like a deep ocean under the shade now!

Does anyone know Sunman? I tried to send an email but it bounced back. This is a pretty old thread, however.

This is an old thread. I am not sure either Sunman or MBenzNL are still active. No response from either. Does anyone know where the Parktronic wiring harness should be routed? Where it enters the car in both the front and the back, etc?

Thanks

Thank You Konigstiger, that is very kind of you.

Have you actually done this retrofit? I've done three retrofits so far, am working on a forth and have three more I would like to do, with this being one of them.

Do you know if Sunman still does these?

Thanks again for the help. It is very useful. THe diagram above looks like a RHD car. I have seen one where the wires run on the left, which is what I expect to find on my car. I have also seen various mountings for the rear parktronic display. I have not actually seen one taken apart in the car. The parts yards I go to don;t have a W211 with parktronic. Rarer than I thought.

Neither of them have been on the forum in years. If you click their username and then "view public profile" it will show when they were last active.
