Alignment after lowering?? (airmatic)

So I just had my airmatic lowered at TWS via notching in the rear and brackets in the front…everything is just fine…but should I have it aligned? And if yes…do I tell the shop anything special or just let them go about their normal business?

TIA

Chris

If it were my car I'd align it for sure.... I have to ask, why chop up your car to lower it???? Why not lower it via star diagnosis @ the dealer???? Its easily reversable when it comes time to dump it...

I don’t think that the dealer was an option although Steve at mbenznl was…on one of his upcoming tours (but you know that).

After living through numerous electronic gremlins in my BMW’s and at the same time having an Audi Allroad (air suspension with 4 levels) lowered basically with the Audi equivalent of the star method and having probs (for Audis its called the 402 mod)…I wanted something mechanical…that’s all…for the aforementioned reasons (which are not directly applicable to my MBZ but nonetheless are still with me) I’m gun shy of doing anything electronic right now…so for me this was the best method to proceed with …a notch under the car is meaningless to me…hell I just pulled the car apart to hardwire my detector…and as for service/warranty that is simply not an issue for me

For others…im sure that the star method or a module makes sense…just not me not now

Great forum glad to be here…and hey…nice bike!

Now back to my orginal question do you know if I need to tell the alignment shop anything special because the car has been lowered or does that not have any bearing on what they need to do?

TIA

Chris

My other forum HIGHLY recommends

West End Alignment
18008 Vermont Ave, Gardena, CA 90248(310) 808-9233

No personal experience, but I haven't heard ONE thing bad about them, also heard to ask for Darin (heard they are experts on alignments, they do a lot for cars that do track, and might have to wait for a week or so since they're so backed up)

Let us know how it goes!!

Good luck..and damn..nice rides
