Battery dying - lights flashing

Anyone experienced a situation where the battery suddenly dies and, prior, the lights flash similar to what you would see if you were pressing the "open door" button on the Smartkey? When I went to go to work on Friday, the battery was dead. I contacted my dealership and they promptly sent out a tech to jump start it. Fine. That night, when I got home from work and parked in the garage, about an hour later my wife noticed a "light show" going on. The lights (signals, front, interior, directionals) and doorlocks were all going "off" - just as though I had pushed the open button on the fob. So, now, seeing as how it's a weekend, I can't get into service until Tuesday. I was in for routine service on Aug. 15th and also had the "battery cu" campaign done. No problems before then but now "consumer electronics " are off. Any suggestions before I call them on Tuesday would be appreciated - just so I'm not told that I don't drive far/often enough (2003 E320 <16k miles and 2+ years old).

Thanks in advance.

If you haven't had these done, then get them done now. Two of them could fix your problem.

It'll be the battery control module - they'll find a code for it - it's a quick fix.

Don't be surprised if the dealer hasn't got the parts for the SBC recall and the voltage regulator. I suspect you'll need the new voltage regulator and at least the bracket and clip on the SBC recall. During the SBC recall, they'll check the pump and replace that if it's outside specs.

In my case, they gave me a loaner while I waited for the parts.

Thanks again . . . wouldn't you know it - we're heading for a week in Nova Scotia next weekend. Hope all is well by then. Can't see them giving me a loaner for that drive

The most important one to get done before you leave is the one that reprograms the Battery Control Module. It shouldn't take long and doesn't require any parts. Just tell them that if they haven't got the parts for the other ones, that you'll have them done when you get back.
