As to my opinion, I am biased towards Porsches and think it is the better choice. But, I am anti-Bangle these days thus my E55 instead of a 5 series. I have had 6 BMWs over the years and this is my 2nd MB.

heh, if i were you i'd look for the SL or wait for the next CL :p
to me the porsche is so evolutionary as to be stuck in time (in styling terms, that is) while the BMW is the biggest joke in auto design for this decade. the front is nice, very nice even. but it gets worse through the flanks and horribly wrong at the rear. if this is modern design, i'm joining the classic cars club! so yeah, overall i'd take the 911 - it'll be a better drive too.
