NAV DVD Update
I just got an update DVD in the mail today from MB. The letter enclosed states that my Nav system will benefit from the disck and will correct some issues. I think its really cool of them to send me the new disc. Now I don't have to buy one. I am assuming that most of you will be receiving one as well.
Disc # BQ 6 46 0209
I had Disc # BQ 6 46 0206 before.

Jack that’s not true, I got a wool blanket with the MB logo. Comes in handy here in the Phoenix metro area 
If they are, in fact, circumventing a TSB or service recall to correct software problems and rather mailing the fix out I applaud MB. As Jack questioned, if you haven’t subscribed to Navigation Updates you’ve gotten a freebie because a certain percentage of data changes every year and BQ 6 46 0209 version 2005.3 is the newest disc thus far.

Ok. I am not sure if the disc includes updated mapping. I did follow the instructions and it did do some upgrade in the command. The disc that I had originally was 2005.1 and the disc that was sent to me was 2005.3. It is definitely not a 'gift' but sent as an easy fix so that one does not have to visit the dealer. Maybe someone can shed some light on the differences between 2005.1 and 2005.3.

It is very accurate on the directions...the Turn instructions are right at the corners and at roundabouts exits.

When you go to Destination Entry and enter the Street Number, it provides a range for each side of the street. When it computes the route guidance, it shows the specific address as the destination. My feeling is that it guides you to the specific destination address based on the directions to my Home address.
I will have to load a destination and see if it tells me when I have reached the specific address or just the street.

I asked HQ about the disc and whether software issues only or maps too were updated. Here's the reply:
