There is NO fuse for this chime warning. it can be disabled with a Star Diagnose Computer. You have to play around with the country settings. I believe there is even one setting that keeps it on continously until you wear the belt!!! I can check when i have some time - which setting it is.

Hope not to offend but the best way to get rid of the chime is to put the seatbelt ON? The chime was made super irritating on purpose. It may be not be comfortable for everyone but hey it is THE most important lifesaving device on your car. You bought a MB for safety no? Well all those other devices in your car are secondary and useless without your belt.....and it'll save you from a ticket too. Sorry for the speech, I'm a doctor that's seen too many DOA that happened from guess what?

Mine is deactivated via SDS for both front seats.... I also deactivated the beeping when locking and unlocking the car. I set it to 0%, factory was set at 20%.
Seat belt chime- version coding in cluster
Locking- coding in rear sam
The dealer should be willing to do it for you with proper documentation/signature stating that you requested the chime to be removed.

I think that it should be a matter of choice whether to wear a belt or not. I do not think the car should try to force you to wear it.
The are supposed to be three settings in the computer for the reminder, which are (or were), Euro (continuous signalling - yuck), US (chime briefly), Off (no warning). I think the most likely thing is that US cars are being shipped with the reminder set to Euro, and that it can be unset.
Good luck.
Here is a link to a similar discussion on the C Class forum, where they actually explain how to disable the reminder (on a C of course).

On the W211 the version coding in the instrument cluster is not country specific. You enter the cluster via SDS, select control unit adaptations, version coding and then there is a option for the seatbelt reminder. Before any changes are made, it reminds you that this can only be performed at the clients request. You set it to not active and hit F5 to xfer the coding.... Then F2 to confirm the changes, F1 to exit the cluster and then switch off the ignition and disconnect.... That is it. Mine no longer chimes or shows the reminder light in the cluster.

Seat belt deactivation
Anyone know a MB shop in Northeastern Illinois that will deactivation seat belt tone through the diagnostic computer on a 2011 E350W4. I know I should wear the seat belt but at times it's not possible.
