less dust aftermarket brake pads??

ok, I did a search and saw a few posts on this matter, but nothing conclusive. A few links have even been removed?

The brake service light is on, and I would like to buy some brakepads that leave less dust than the OEM pads. I dont need better stopping power, but just looking for less dust pad. While I dont think it matters, but I have an 03 e500 with sport package.

Rotors are almost need of replacement, so an aftermarket set of cross-drilled rotors would look nice as well.

anybody find anything? tirerack doesnt sell any of these items for our cars.

thanks in advance.

Run a search on "Replacement Brake Pads"...

Among other posts, you'll find one on my experience with my gf's X5 and replacement pads I put on her car (also available for the w211)..

Incredibly low dust.. and so far, very rotor friendly..

All of them, as much as I can...
Thumbs up Ebc

The front rotors almost always need to be replaced with the pads. The rears you can do every other cycle. I have found EBC Greenstuff pads with Zimmerman drilled rotors to work the best. Incredible stopping power (almost like when you get the car new), very little fade, and about a third of the dust.

Check out these pads

I know several people who have used them and are satisfied. Mintex Red Box

Also check out Stoptech for rotors, etc.

Porterfield brake pads

I have read in several forums that they have good results from using Porterfield pads. The thing you have to be careful about the pads is that there are probably several makes of pads out there that don't generate dust, but some may be hard on the rotors, and cause them to warp prematurely.

I installed Porterfield (carbon/kevlar) pads on my 05 E320cdi. They have a high coefficient of friction but are very rotor friendly. Also, they only produce about 20% of the dust compared to OEM pads. I paid about $105 each set from brvracesupply.com and installed them myself.

Thanks everyone. I found the porterfield pads from one of the advertisers on this site. Looks like the fronts are $196 list and the rears are $120.

havent found anyone who sells cross drilled rotors yet. (I already know cross drilled doesnt help in stopping performance, I only want it for looks)

A very important caution! If plan to replace the pads yourself, you must follow the direction to replace brake pads for W211 or you may lose a finger or two due to the SBC set up. It is not the same procedure as other cars. SBC must be deactivated first! There is thread that covers this procedure thoroughly.

Flash- yes, thanks for the warning. Actually, I dont like to get my hands dirty so I was going to buy all of this stuff on-line and take to the dealer to install. My dealer- manhattan beach, doesnt stock anything else besides OEM, while my local bmw dealer can get non-oem parts.
