Shuddering on acceleration?

Shuddering on acceleration?
I have a '03 E500 and when I accelerate from 1800 to 2600 rpm the whole car shudders and you can even see the rev counter needle jump about. It doesnt do it if you rev the engine when parked so I think it may be a gearbox problem. It all seemed to start after I had the sbc vibration upgrade "plus other upgrades which are deemed necessary". Anyone else get this or heard of it? I am taking it in tomorrow for them to plug it in- would like some advice if possible.
Thank you for your time.

2003 E 500 - Full option
I had one of the first E 500 (it was such a crap that I traded it early this year for a 5 series). The shuddering was do to water leakage coming from the gearbox oil cooling radiator. It damaged the torque convertor and the gearbox. They changed first the torque convertor and then again the convertor and the gearbox. It kooks to be a known problem in E series.

my wife reported the same problem few times. (not always happens) I think it is caused by keeping switching gears up and down.
because your car remembers the way you drive, you can reset it as the another thread --
Try This which may get rid of this problem.

In my case this was not an intermitant problem. If it is the same problem it will worthen to shudder not only in accelerations but also at stable speeds.

I also brought my car into the service yesterday regarding same issue with some other problems. I remembered they fixed once on my car to re-seal the connector to stop water leakage.

Well, thanks for your answers, guys.
It went into the garage today and they have taken it off the road and given me a hire car. It needs a new gearbox, torque convertor and g/b oil radiator. They gave me a E270cdi which is quite nice.
They said there is a known technical document about this problem and the gearbox is on back order so it will be 5 to 10 days.
Thanks again for the info.
