Trying to sell my wheels..what's a fair price to ask?
Hey guys,
i posted a thread in the classified section of the forum. I'm selling my 19" Amg's and H & R springs off of my w211. The wheels are in great shape, little bit of rash, can barely see it on these wheels, no bends and the tires are about 6 months old. My springs are like new. I haven't posted a price in the classified thread cuz i'm not really sure how much i should ask. What do you guys think a fair price for the wheels and the springs would be?

How much are they worth new? What kind of tread is left on the tires? I'd go with about 40-50% of the original value of the rims, plus a prorated value of the tires minus the cost of repairs to getting them in perfect condition and start from there.
So say the rims were originally worth $2500, the tires were purchased for $1000 and have about 70% tread left and it will cost $125 to resurface the damaged rims. With those numbers I'd offer them at somewhere between $1575-$1825 (2500 x .4 or .5 + 1000 x .7 - 125 = 1575 or 1825).
Once you come up with the final amount, take off 20% and then sell them to me!

Not to discourage you but I sold two sets of rims I had on previous cars and both sold for less than 30% of the original package value and it took me 18 months to get rid of one set and the second set it took me about 5 months to get rid of and and I actually ended up just giving them to my sister for free (go figure).
