Confirmation of Production Date
My dealer informed me that my 320 has a production date of August 1st. I placed my order at the end of May. He told me that my car should arrive at the dealership around 6 weeks after it is built. Can someone tell me what has been your experiences on deleivery lead times once the car has beeen built?

I was informed by my salesperson that my E500 was bult on July 10th and should also be here within 4-6 weeks. He also mentioned that the car may arrive earlier than the release date, and that I may have to wait for delivery of the car after it arrives until MB officially releases the car.

Just went to my dealer on Saturday, He checked on the computer about my car and he said my car is in-production. He said I can have the car end of August (for the earliest) or mid September(for the latest). Does anyone know how long the production of a car is?

1999 Mercedes E320
2003 E Class in Jacksonville FL NOW
I 'ordered' my 2003 from my dealer last August---long before MB was accepting them. On the first day the order could be made, the order was submitted. My car was built on June 10 and arrived at port in Jacksonville, FL early July. My 1999 E320 was demolished in an accident almost a year ago, so I decided to wait until the 2003s were released to replace it. My dealer told me last week that my car should be in my hands by August 15th---and if it isn't, the dealership will provide me a loaner until it is released. Knowing how difficult it is to get a loaner these days tells me that my car will be here by that time. BTW, my '99 E Class was totally demoished after I hydroplaned. The safety features performed just as MB has always promised... Even though it took emergency personnel an hour to cut me out of the car, there were no broken bones. The impact of the collision caused 14 teeth to break, but I was at home the evening of the accident. If I have another serious accident, I hope I am in a Mercedes. The car, seat belts and airbags saved my life.

Cisco - will look for your E320 on the line 8/1
As luck would have it, I will be at the factory in Sindelfingen picking up a Mercedes (not an E) under European Delivery Program next week and expect to see the factory tour 8/1 - the day of your (Ciscobigot's) E320 Production. (What color should I look for. I think photos are verbotten while viewing the production line, but then again may get to see it outside in the rail yard being loaded at the tracks.)
