In germany the wheels are more like the doublespoke ones
you also have.
The wheels on the car on top look like laquered.

Gotcha.. so they're more "natural metal" color vs the painted and clear coated color of my rims... I think that would look good to, Can you post a close up pic of it on the car? The shot above is hard to judge..

I trust you... no problem. I'll see if there are any pics on-line, or if you see any post them then.

Gruß Gott!

Polished wheels

As far as I know they don't equip the E-class with polished wheels anymore, neither in the US nor in Europe. They are just clearcoated now. Part of the cost saving like the deletion of puddle lights or active charcoal filter.

What are puddle lights? And when did the Active charcoal filter go away? Was it only on the 4-zone?

Maybe as an accessory, but not as a factory option.

In German: Im Zubehoer vielleicht, aber ab Werk werden sie nicht mehr verbaut.

The puddle lights are located on the bottom of the rear view mirrors. The 2002 models have them but i think they were dropped half way through 2003
The w220 S-class used to have them as well.

My 2004, E320 4-Matic produced on April of 2004 has them and I find them very convenient!

I believe both started to disappear in '05. However, there’s a very good chance the puddle lights will be back because the CLS has them and the new mirrors on the e-class facelift seem to be the same as the CLS (ultimately cost effective to use the same mirrors across both models).
