01 CLK430 cab, Silver/Ash/Blk top: 2003 E500 On order Silver/Ash, Sport package
Elegance or Avantgarde on the E500?

After seeing the prices for the options I am indecisive about which model to get the the standard with the Elegance pkge or the Sport with the Avantgarde pkg. The car will be driven mostly by my wife, I am getting it for her birthday. When I would need to take out clients or friends in business or on road trips, I would be driving it.

Currently I have a 01 CLK 430 cab, silver/ash/blk top. My wife likes the black birds eye maple with the ash interior in it.

The wheels on the E500 Sport would be 17" will they include high performance tires like the CLK 430? Also what differences would there be in the handleing between the stnd E500 and Sport E500?

$ for $ the value seems pretty good for the Sport model unless there would be a reason I am not thinking of to prefer the the standard model featuring the Elegance package???

Another question is the premium sound included with the sunroof package ithe Harmon Kardon? and the Cd with the telephone, is that the indash 6 disc changer, or the trunk mounted changer like in my CLK? Lastly I have comand in the 2001 CLK, would the comand offered for $1200. be the same model for the
E500.

We are trading in my former car given to my wife when I got the CLK. It is a 95 S320. We would in all likeliyhood be keeping the new E500 for several years so I would like to make it as timeless as possible while having the creature features.

2000 CLK430 Coupe
Benzman,
The E500 comes with 17" rims even without the Sport Package. The non-sport rims look like what I have in my Avatar. In fact, I believe that the non-sport wheels are half inch wider than the wheels that come with the Sport Package. However, the Sport Package does come with better tires. In terms of handling, the tires in the Sport Package will really be the only component that will affect the handling as both versions have the same suspension with the Airmatic DC.

Sports Package will be coming out with a dissapointing 17x8 wheels while the standard car (Elegance) will have 17x8.5.

The above only applies to the E500
