Unbelievable: C-Class has active charcoal filter, E-class doesn't?!
A friend of mine in Europe just received his C280 4-Matic and sent me a few pictures. I noticed a button with a white and black arrow on the right temperature dial in one of them and asked him about it. He confirmed that it was the button for the active charcoal filter and that it was part of the better version of climate control in Europe. The E-classes in Europe and the US no longer come with this feature. Where is the logic in equipping the "lower" model with more amenities?

As I recall from previous posts on this topic, I don't think that it's no longer available on the w211, you just don't have the option to enable/disable it (no button). Instead, it's always active.

...the C and CLK also have an illuminated rollerswitch for the distronic setting where as the E and CLS have a non illuminated rollerswitch...so there is more that the E is lacking off...
