Options unavailable in 06?

Options unavailable in 06?
I know some of the stuff about decontenting that started in the 05 models, but I didn't know about option changes. Looking at MBUSA site today, I couldn't find a way to spec the 06 E500 with distronic. I already knew they removed drive dynamic seats, but I was not aware that distronic was gone too - is it an oversight?
Just curious. As a 04 wagon owner, I note I could no longer get the sport package on a wagon, either. The AMG package is available, but gets you the 18" wheels in addition to other sport package items - which I wouldn't want on the 4Matic that will be driven in snow sometimes.
Anyway, anybody know if it's true the US 06 E500 can't be ordered with distronic?
