Transmission oil leak why? and what should I do?

Today, I found some oil leak around bottom of car. I want to find the cause of regular spinning noise at the lower speed(less thn 60km maybe)---Hmm,Hmm,Hmm ---maybe under the car--when tire rotate?

But instead of noise, Black steel box located just posterior and midline from the front axle which side and bottom panel were wet with oil. I called my dealer ship and they said it maybe transmission oil leak.
My car is 2005, 18500km now, so still under warranty.. What is this and why is this happened and what should I do? Must I change whole transmission?

Help,please......

Simple...It's under warranty. Take it to the dealer and have them fix it.

I had a transmisson leak on my 2003 E320. I think it is a seal around a switch or something like that but whatever it was, it took almost zero time for them to fix it. It took a lot longer to wash the car than to fix the transmisson leak.

And they were not surprised at the leak. They had seen plenty of them.

Its more of a connector than a switch, transmission conduit seals.

Do they change the transmission fluid when they fix the lead? Thanks.

I am fairly certain they do not change the fluid. It has been a while ago when it was done but it is my memory that it was done so quickly that they could not possibly have had time to change the fluid.

Service Campaign 2006020008 JAN07 – Inspect transmission pilot bushing at electrohydraulic unit and replace if necessary. This campaign is only performed in conjunction with an A or B service maintenance or other warranty repair that requires the underbody paneling to be removed as part of the repair. Call your dealer to check VMI to see if your vehicle is involved, here is the VIN range listed in the bulletin (163, 170, 199, 203, 209, 215, 220, 230, and 463 models are also included).

2004 & 2005:
211.026 = A530334 - A669953
211.065 = A530684 – A668796
211.076 = A540836 – A648915
211.082 = X147479 – X170826
211.083 = X150952 – X174273
211.265 = A529437 – A658085
211.282 = X144541 – X172119
211.283 = X151484 – X176198

ALL vehicles with 722.6 (5-speed) transmissions:

If VMI claims your vehicle is not involved and you suspect your transmission is leaking (i.e.: low transmission fluid), as I understand it, P-B-27.00/47e JAN07 - Leaking oil in the area of the Electric Connection covers vehicles not included in the service campaign and does not have to be combined with another repair or maintenance requiring the underbody panel to be removed.

Affected area will be cleaned, electrical connector and O-rings will be replaced.
