Garage opener to constant power?

Garage opener to constant power?
Anyone switch the wiring for the opener to constant power so you can open/close them whenever you like?
Don't know why the do it (and please don't try and convince me its safer to start my car then open the door!).

No, I haven't wired it to constant power, but perhaps they do it for (home) security purposes.
I kind of like it that way. Sometimes I leave my car outside at night or during the day while I'm at work (without the key in it) and forget to lock it (the car). The way it is wired from MB, no one can open my garage door and get into my house. My GM SUV, on the other hand, has the garage door opener wired to constant power. An unlocked vehicle basically means my house is also unlocked with the GM setup. My $.02 anyway.
