Help! Interior steering wheel color???

I am looking at buying a wood steering wheel for my 2003 E320 Sport. The outside is Tectite Grey, that I am sure of. The interior is stone (very, very light tan)...but what color is the steering wheel? The interior is two tone, the dash, steering wheel and other parts at that height are a different color than the seats, carpet and lower interior body parts. I know I have the black birdseye trim as well since it has the sport pkg.

I found a "Palma Grey" steering wheel that looks like that may be it? Does anyone know the other color I am talking about? Thanks.

Thanks for the obvious. Never did I say Palma Grey was Stone.

There are 2 colors on the interior, do they call both colors Stone? That wouldn't make much sense. All I am asking is what color is the second color in the car, or do they actally just refer to it as a Stone interior and it has 2 colors?

I think that "Stone" refers to the two-color combination, not just the lighter color. At any rate, I've never heard of a separate name for the darker brown on the upper part of the dash. You'll probably just have to get a picture of the steering wheel and make sure that it matches.

Oh, and be nice to Steve (MBenz NL). Some day you may want something electronic added to your car (say, a nav system in place of the useless cassette deck), and in that event he's the go-to guy.

Thanks for the response!

I know Steve is the "go to guy", he actually was very nice and replied to an email last week on where to get my lower via DAS done. His comment that "Palma Gray is not Stone" was of no value and sarcastic, so I replied the same. I guess there are two colors for a "Stone" interior.

Nothing MB related (sorry)
If you want to know the exact color codes / names for your interior, you could ask your MB dealer to run your car's VIN number in their EPC...

thanks for all the advice, i'm dropping it off tonight at the dealer for Service G and supposedly the dealer has told me they would lower via DAS for $65. (Sounds too good to be true from what others have posted, we'll see if they come through!) I'm ask them about steering wheel color. I found one online and was wanting to buy therefore my reason for asking. The dealer is Park Place in Dallas, TX and Steve the Asst. Service Manager said they would lower via DAS for those interested.

Palma gray: EBAY find?

I saw "palma grey" on a steering wheel for sale on EBAY. It resembles Ash more than stone.

I would avoid the aftermarket wheels unless they are TRW (OEM for Mercedes).
The W211 seems to be prone to SRS malfunctions as it is so I would avod adding any more potential trouble spots. Out-of-warranty labor is too high to scrimp on parts.

I just bought a wood/leather wheel from the dealer, $700 but labor was free since the wheel was off for a "clockspring" SRS malfunction.

it wasn't meant to be sarcastic - I would have typed something else when I would have waned to be sarcastic...anyways, with a few more words: stone is stone regardless wether it is the lighter colored seat or the darker colored dash - stone is stone

and palmagrey is palmagrey...
