E350 - E550...
Just wondering if there'll be a variant to sit between the E350 and E550. Has anyone heard anything?
As I understand it, the E350 has 200kW, the E550 will have 285kW. The current E500 has 225kW. Will they keep the E500 with the upcoming facelift or is there a new variant to come in between the E350 and E550?

All the reports I've seen of the 2007 North American E-Class mention only two (non-AMG) gasoline engines - the current 3.5 and the new 5.5.

For quite a while M-B has had only one gasoline 6 and one non-AMG V8 offering for the E-Class in North America; world market variations have been engines smaller than the North American 6, not something sandwiched between the 6 and the V8.

Yeah the E500 is gone. Europe might get an E450, but the U.S. will not.
I personally have wondered why MB doesn't import an E280 and maybe change the name to reflect the actual engine size, E300 since it is a 3L V6. I mean BMW sells a cheapo 525i with no problem.
