Great timing on the post. Have my E500 for almost 2 weeks now and noticed the heavy build up. Thanks for the tips.

I use Zaino on my car, and I also apply it to my wheels. It does IMHO cut down on the amount of brake dust that collects on your wheels as well as make cleaning them that much easier. What ever you do though, you want to make sure you clean that stuff off as often as possible (at least once per week).

Mercedes
I had to replace the brake pads and rotors on my CLK500 at 28k miles. I replaced the stock pads with Pagid pads and they don't create half the brake dust the stock ones did. I thought Pagid was an OEM manufacturer but there was definately a difference in the amount of brake dust.

So which ones are better, Porterfield or Pagid?
Or is it preference? My car before buying had them replaced so I am not due for a while.

Also I am from Jersey, so once winter rolls around I have to switch from my performance tires. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Bill

Zaino or a good wax is a great idea for your wheels. I'm a dork - I tend to clean my wheels ~ 4x per week. A quick rinse and spray with spray detailer and a mf cloth.

I agree! At 25k miles, I replaced all 4 corners with Pagid that I found on autopartswarehouse.com.

After a couple of thousand miles now, much less brake dust !!
