Headlines from the 2003 E Calss Brochure

For those who have emailed me on the content of the brochure:

I am copying the headlines from each page of the 36 pages brochure.

Title page: Introducing the all-new Mercedes-Benz E Class 2003

6:30 AM The 2003 E- Class can transform your typical day into an experience all its own.

Suddenly, you're a morning person..

7:34AM Today, the newer power symbol is ....power.
With the E-Class Performance, objects in the rearview mirror are history.

When it comes to other sport sedans, we''ll pass.

A Ph.D. in indulgence. 8:16AM There's nothing better than being able to relax in the style and comfort you deserve.

Relaxed, Alert, and Ready for the day.

If your office felt this good, you'd never go home.

Debate politics, not cabin temperature. 8:32 AM It may not settle every debate, but E Class Comfort and 4-zone climate control can sure make your comute better.

Once you experience Sensotronic Brake Control, you'll wonder how you ever drove without it. 8:52AM Brakes that read the road, the weather and your mind.

Guess which car has Sensotronic Brake Control (blurred piture of the Autobann and the E Class silver with panorama roof is clear)

Stop and take in the natural beauty.

1:00 PM Styles may come and go, but E-Class value is a beauty that endures.

High maintenance? You, maybe. Your E-Class? Absolutely not.
Extremely loyal, without being too needy.

There are certain times when only the best will do. This is one of them. An oasis of calm in an unsettling World.

3:30PM Road construction, traffic congestion, Complete tranquility.

I got its letters in handling.

"..The E's assorted active electronics manage to transparently balance comfort with performance." Road & Track, 5/02
6:23AM Hard left corner Right bolster inflates Left bolster deflates Seat huggs driver

Hard left corner air springs firm up..Shocks pressurize car huggs road.

Tele Aid: You're in-car connection to answers, assistance, and unforgettable peking duck. 7:30AM when you've got questions, we've got the answers.

Attitude Adjustment 10:28pm The Sport Package will make them stop and take notice. And Parktronic helps you take notice of obstacles while parking. Good evening.

This page is full of benefits that accompany your Mercedes-benz. A page no other car maker can duplicate. What have we done for you lately? A lot more than you might expect:

Log on to learn more.

got the brochure a hour agop, and it is very nice, it has all the specs, but the e500 will have a 1000 dollar gas guzzler charge .
Other than that, it is awesome, so many great pics, also, if you get ANY color with black opal.....it is extra, same thing with wedgewood color, ANY color..if you get platinum blue, with charcoal it is extra, if you get capri blue with charcoal, or blue leather it is extra. If you get bordaeux red with ash it is extra. If you getdessert silver with ash it is extra. If you get pewter with ash it is extra. If you get brilliant silver with blue leather it is also extra. If you get everest green with ash it is extra. If you get midnight blue with ash it is also extra. And alabaster whit can go with everything. All the colors i didnt say, like...black, jade black, obsidian black, tecite grey come with everything except one color. But there are no extra charges on those for certain colors. And that is the same on the e320, or e500, whether it is prem. leather, or inserts. burl walnut comes with the reg cars, and the sport options get black birdseye. Best colors i thought were of course obsisian blac (cuz i got that), and plat blue(very nice color), dessert silver, pewter, and wedgewood. Also the main differences between the e320 and e500 shown in the back of the brochure is that the e500 comes with4-zone climate control, so everone can set there own climate control, prem. leather, airmatic. And that is about it, but the metallic colors are optional on the e320. Also, its cool cuz both cars come with a 10 speaker system, but if you get the e2, it comes with the HARMON KARDON!! system, with 12 speakers!!, with a sub and a amp..... Dealer said it beats the s-classes bose by 100000000000000000000000000 miles...They also show a pic of the nav, it looks nice, they took out the cassette part, and added a couple more buttons on the side. Also, this standard is very cool.....behind the door handles, there is a litlle light, so you now where the handle is. Also, the outside mirrors come with a step out feature, so in the dark, you can see where you step. IM trying to thinkm of all the cool stuff while looking at the brochure............ooo yea, the e500 is 0-60 in 5.8!!!!, and the e320 is 0-60 in 7.2, which it .1 seconds slower, but this info was given to the dealers at the torrance thing, and it say it is a pre-launch info, so it is more useless, than usable info, the specs are....(i will list everything, then the #'s, hopefully it will make sense) Wheelbase, overall length, overall height, overall width, track(front), track(rear), coefficint of drag(same for both), curb wheight(e320/e500), headroom(front), legroom(front), shoulder room(front), headroom(rear), legroom(rear), shoulder room(rear), cabin cap, cargo cap. If nothing wasnt ,arked for the fron or rear, it is the same. Now the #'s for everything in order....112.4 in, 190.3, 57, 71.3, 61.4, 61.1, .27, 3635/3815, 37.4, 41.9, 56.4, 37.7, 35.6, 56.1, 97.2 cubic feet, 15.9 cubic feet. Now everything in milimeters.....2854, 4833, 1449, 1810, 1559, 1552, coefficint isnt in inches, 1649/1730, 951, 1065, 1432, 957, 903, 1424, 2752 liters, 450 liters. There are three different settings for the airmatic sus, it also comes with self-leveling, for the wheight of the car. Also, this is very very cool, for the climate control, in the e320, and e500 only with the 4-zone climate control...if there is the sun shining on the rear left or rear seat, and the a/c is on, the fan will blow more air, so it senses the heat from the sun. There are eight airbags, and they offer 10-way protection there is a first ever rollover sensor, so the airbags do something special, not really sure, and for the sensotronic brakes, if your are going very fast on the freeawy, say like 85, and you suddenly let go of the gas pedal, the disc brakes will think you might get into a crash, so they move very cose to eachother, so if you do brake, it is a lot shorter of a distance. Also, if the wipers are on, the disc brakes will dry themselves, so they wont slip while braking. For the climate control, there is a filtration system, and a humidity sensor, so the windos dont fog. There is also, a smog sensing charcoal filter. Also, the e320 and e500 a/c is very different. All of the interior pics with the long narrow screen for climate control is all the e500. The e320 will get a reg, non-screen climate control system. I'm pretty sure you guys know what i am talking about. Also, the seats are 10-way power, with 3 different memories, but the steering whell doesnt move powerly. Both are ulev cars, ultra low emission vehicle. That is about it on the info from the brochure, but the technical sheet, compares the specs between the 2003 e, and the 2002 e. Top speed on the e320 is 152, and 155 on the e500, i believe that is w/o govener. Front brake disc diameter is 12.3 on the e320, and 13 inches on the e500. The front thickness is .4 inches on the e320, and .84 on the e500. The rear diamter is 11.8 for both, and the rear thickness is .4, and .84 on the e500. fuel capacity is the same as 2002, but i doubt that, i think it will be a little different, they show 21.1 gallons. That is all the info i have for you guys. God damkn my fingers hurt, call me a slow typer, but this took over 20 minutes If anyone has any questions about anything, or if i mis typed something, you can e-mail me at bmms8@aol.com Hoped this helped

i forgot to write(well i think i didnt say this), the aimatic sus, with ads version 2(it comes with the airmatic) I will read what it says, there is no other way to put it...
Airmatic Dual Control air suspension with Adaptive Damping System(ads||(its suppose to be version #2)- Airmatic Dual control is a semi-active suspension that provides greater ride comfort yet responds to reduce pitch, dive and roll during braking, accelerating and conering by instantaneosly firming up springs rates as driving dynamics change. Electronically controlled pneumatic spring-struts integrate variable-rate shock absorbers and coil springs. Dual driver-selectable Sport Modes engage firmer damping profiles either full-time or at lower thresholds or body movement, and LOWER RIDE BY .6 INCHES Automatic 4-wheel level control includes driver selectable ride height control to manually RAISE VEHICLE BY .8 INCHES or LOWER BY .6 INCH VIA SELECTION OF EITHER SPORT MODE , AND AUTOMATIC SPEED-SENSITIVE LOWERING TO REDUCE THE RIDE HEIGHT BY .6 INCHES AT HIGHER SPEEDSº(really it is supposed to be a 4, not a zero, but i dont know how to do that) º(another 4 ) Please obey local speed laws. Heh, yea that'll happen with this car. Very Very Very col airmatic sus, with all of its gizmos

wow, i just read this, but to get the e320 sport, you need to get the airmatic sus, it doesnt say it is part of it!!!!!, and you also need to get prem leather.....but it includes...
-four 17 inch 5-spoke alloy wheels with 245/45WR17 high preformance tires.
-Sculpted lower bodywork
-blue-tinted glass
-black grille with five chrome ribs and chrome surround
-Bi-xenon high density discharge projector low-beam and high beam headlights.
-heated headlamp washers
-ALL-led brake lights
-Ivory-colored gauge faces, backlit soft blue at night, with matte chrome instrument cluster surround.
-Matte chrome gearshift surround
-Black birdseye maple wood interior trim with polished chrome outlining. Thats all it says, it says nothing about the airmatic part of it................sorry about those guys who thought they were gonna get it Yea i just looked over the brochure, and to get the airmatic sus, you need to GET the sport package, so i guess it isnt part of it. I just saw another part of the brochure and it says nothing about the air sus being part of the sport package. But maybe the price for the e320 sport will go down, so it will match up right, after getting the airmatic. I would call my dealer, and tell them to find out.

also, the 167 non-sport package i guess will be part of all cars w/o the sport package, cuz when i picked my brochure, my salesperson gave me a printout with all the options, the options came out to be 6105...ouch....but that included gas guzzler, remeber, all e500's come with a 1000 dollar charge. But there was no price on the on it, so i guess, it really isnt a option....that is what i think. Because the brochure has it's own section for options, but it is only E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, they dont really include all the parktronic, key-less-go stuff in that area, but throughout the brochure they mention all of that optional stuff

yip, why need to wait a week, you can go to your dealer, and ask your sales rep to give you one. Your in socal right, does that mean more of la, or san diego. IF youre i san diego, escondido is a great dealer, go to them, or any other dealer. They all have them, plus man, this thing is huge, that guy is not going to waste all his money on pleasing ppl he doesnt know, stamps are 34 cents, and each envelope must be very big to put the brochure in it :ºl

bmms8, thanks for the info. I will rush to my dealer tomorrow . btw, I live in LA

hey bmms8, i have a question regarding your posts about a/c on 320.

you said:

".............Also, the e320 and e500 a/c is very different. All of the interior pics with the long narrow screen for climate control is all the e500. The e320 will get a reg, non-screen climate control system. I'm pretty sure you guys know what i am talking about........"

if i ordered E320 without the 4-zone climate control, I will get the non screen climate control system??? Is that for the front passenger a/c or for the rear passenger a/c ????? If it is for the front passenger a/c, Is that means we get the classic model for a/c for the e320(any pics??)??? If that is the case , damnnn, i regret for not chosing the 4-zone climate control.

btw, thanks again bmms8 for your posts and your info

sorr, i went to sleep last night, and noproblm about the info. Yea, in the picture of all te e320 interiors, it is non-screen a/c. There will be a/c in the rear, and i think you get e a screen in the back, not sure. In there back, where there are specs, it says this for the e320--Dual-zone CFC-free automatic climate control with 'dual rotary temp. controls', automatic control of blower speed and airflow distribution (with manual override) Those prenthesis werepart of it.. Low-draft/high-volume dash-top diffuser vent. Rear-cbn air vents at rear on front console. So i guess ou dont get any screen in the back, only vent, if you look at a 2002 camry 'xle' it is the same. That is hat i think, only the e500 will get the screen in the front. I ant type all of the info for the e500, cause i gotta go to work. I will be back at around 2pm west coast time. If you need more info, or have questions you can e-mail me at bmms8@aol.com, or just leave a post here, hopes this helped, bye

oo ye, the e500 hasthis, i wont write it all, only the differences. 4-zone CFC-free auto climate control with 'four individual digital temp/airflow controls'. So there are two screens in the e500, one in front, one in back. It also hasa 'acivated charcoal filter with smog-sensing auto reciculationof filered cabin air.'
Also- '4-waysun sensor. That is very col, i think i already explained it, but if the sun is shining on ony passenger, the car will take not, and blow more air to that passenger. It does say the rear passengers get here own temp, there is aso a pic in he brochure of three ppl, and it showed there own temps. On the e500, there are also rear vents on the door, idont know what pillars are, but to me, i would sa 'b' pillar?? just luike the s-class. And it also says the seat-belt tensioanrs work with the rear a/c to blowmore direct air at the person. Yipi dont know how much it is to get, but sht man, there is a lot of suf pafrt of it. If you have kids, d itfor them, believe me, im nly 15, but my parents got the e500 on order, and we bought a 2002 v6 camry xle,and that is probably the biggest reason webought the car, just cuse there are vets in the back, te dont control temp, on air-flow, but i guss for a camry thats good enuff. But try to go for the 4-zone. If you go pickup the brochure today, go up to the comp with yoursales guy, andsee if you can change it, cuz if it isnt gonna be built for a hile, it will prob work. He will prob say it is to late, the cutt-off was 7/17, but i still addeed 2 moreoptions on mine last week, by
