How to remove tail light?

Hello, does anyone have instructions on how to remove the tail light assembly? It seems that I have a dead bee inside of the backup light and would like to extract the carcass...

There are lots of bees of the bumble variety... inside my tail light is what looks like a yellowjacket; actually a wasp.

Stephan,
Once you get the trunk lining part (and I believe a cover) away from the rear light, there are three screws that hold the light assembly to the outer lens. Take care and do not touch the bulbs. Never done this myself, but saw pictures of it.

Regards,
Paul...

I believe you are referring to the TORX screws. Just go to your local hardware store and buy a set. They are not hard to find. Let me know what bulb type it uses so I can do the same thing too. I hate that fried egg look myself.....need to replace it with the silver bulbs.

Rod,

I saw some presentations at http://www.mercedestechstore.com and they indicate that the bulbs in the rear light assemblies are soldered in place, so the entire assembly would have to be changed out if one of the bulbs burned out.

I encountered that star screw before and just used an allen wrench that fit inside. I was too far away from the store to fetch one. The right size allen wrench fits very snugly inside the star. Try it but careful not to strip it since this is only the ghetto approach.
