APS50 with W211

Brought from Germany an APS50 Navigation System (CD version) for my E-500 model year 2003 built 11/2002. While the unit is fnctioning and the GPS antenna works the underlying map is Germany. The local Mercedes dealer does not know how to change that to the US version. Harman/Becker the German manufacturer is not allowed to give an answer. Yet they mentioned that you can put a new "firm ware" on the system. Can anybody help me with that? Roland

all US spec 2003 211s came with an APS50 - but due to the navigation software not being available in the US, mercedes disabled te navigation function in those units and rebadged it an audio50.

as far as I know there is no navigation software available for the US that works with an APS50
