Ditto that. Combined with my tint and my Brilliant Silver color it really looks great.

Have you had the dealer see if they could eliminate it? Is it the roof itself or the sunshade?

Absolutely love my Pano - no problems at all so far. If you are even considering it, my advice is to get it or you will likely wish you had done so later.

Benz4Bill...do you recall how dark you tinted your windows. I have dark interior and had my windows tinted 35%. Looks good - but with pano it sometimes seems too light of a tint. I want tinted and classy, I did not want my windows blacked out.

Thanks

CJ,

Yeah thinking about it.. the roof does lighten it a bit. Will compare with the shade open and closed. With Brilliant Silver I went with 35% as well for the classier look.

yes they tend to do that. we have three E-class with panoramic roof, and they all do that, started after 10000 kms.

Dealer had a look at them and used special mercedes lubrication. bit better, but still rattles.

Have creaking on my Pano when backing out my driveway....Dealer replace a rear panel but still creaks. They are willing to replace the entire Pano but I can live with the creak for now. I would still get it over again!

It's ashame MB can't make these things right or to last without creaking...this is really starting to give me second thoughts about this option .

Pano Roof

Curious and would like to know of those owners with pano roof:

1.) how many owner garaged there cars and;

2.) climate/temperatures were you live on average. This my have some affect on this particular issue and may require some sort of reqular maintenance (i.e. lub) ourside of MB scheduled maintenance.

I have the pano roof with 24000 miles and will have this particular item checked/addressed at the next scheduled maintenance.

Unhappy Pan-roof rattles

Had mine 6 months 2006 e350.
Pano roof creaks and rattles on Maine's pothole.
Unfortunately New Hampshire dealer unable to duplicate noise as their roads much smoother. Also seems temperature related

I absolutely LOVE my pano!!! 3+ years' experience, now. I haven't had any creaking problems with mine. I'm at the beach, so I have a pretty stable temperature here. Also, I don't need to park in the sun much. I don't know if that helps, but it might.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Can't the dealer in NH take it over some rough railroad tracks a few times? I'm sure going to give the one I'm looking at a very thorough test drive

SoCal always garaged kept...mellow beach climate / Mine creeks on occasion but I could really care less...LOVE the fact that my car is, for the most part, unique with that big black roof....love the look from the outside (and inside) and it would take a lot for me to give it up

Pano Roof Rattle

Ok...Mine started to rattle at 25,000 miles.
Dealer asked me when was the last time I washed the car ?.
I said a couple of weeks ago and the weather was ALSO DRY.
The technician said that the seals have dried out and would lubricate the track and seals to resolve the problem.....GREAT NO MORE RATTLES

Three months later the poblem is back.
I bought a can of spray grease ( the type you would use on a chain saw )
I applied it to the slides and channels... NOW,SIX MONTHS LATER IT,S STILL SILENT.

Quick $4 fix with a can of spray grease + 3 minutes of my time.

Les ...Chesterfield...England.

Mine's pratically a "Garage Queen" (2+ years/16K miles) but Chicago's temp does fluctuate from each side of the spectrum.

When backing up my driveway and the rear tires touches the street is when you hear the creak of the Pano(Body Flex). It's very subtle that I'm going to live with it but noticeable if you're paying attention.
