Yeah, I know there will be a E63 wagon, but we need AWD here in the NE. Right now the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 V8 is starting to emerge as an alternate choice. Eh.

Yeah I can't see why they wouldn't bring over an E550 wagon. I saw plenty of E500 wagons around so it appears that it sold well, but around here every Benz but the SLR can be spotted on any given day, especially a nice Saturday. Other than that it appears that the 07's is going to be a major hit as far as the FL and equipment packages/prices.

Any word on if the new '07 AMG sport package will be available on both "luxury" and "sport" models?

Dammit, I just want an E320 CDI 4-Matic wagon (ideally with the AMG sport package) that handles reasonably well.

Why wont they offer it?

I give them one more year, since I wont be in the market until sometime next year. So as long as it is available Fall of '07 as an '08 model, I'm happy.

Killer App

I agree that a diesel 4 matic wagon would be the killer app of Mercedes cars.

I think if you had waited another few months you'd be able to get a E320 CDI 4Matic, a 2007 model.

you really don't need a 4matic, just get a good set of snow tires, like nokians and you'll get through almost anything in winter.
My e320cdi performs better in snow with the nokians than my all wheel drive lexus

They really need to offer this car with 4-Matic. Personally I would not consider the CDI without 4-Matic. I live in Washington DC and it's really not practical for me to consider winter tires. It is absolutely unacceptable for me to be in a situation where my safety is compromised in any way due to lack of traction when technology is available to make the situation safer.

The other day I was leaving a gravel parking lot and on the way out I saw an E350 stuck in the gravel parking lot with its rear wheels spinning. Several people got off their cars to help push the Mercedes out of the parking lot. How embarrassing! I'd gladly pay extra for 4-Matic.

I have no need for 4matic; I certainly wouldn't want it with the associated degredation in fuel economy. I wouldn't consider a car with it.

It depends on where you are. I have a 330i (RWD) that I drive in the winter with performance winter tires and it has handled pretty nasty storms, though not comfortably (I try to only drive it on dry winter days). OTOH, I have a MT Saabaru (Saab 9-2X Linear) with stick winter tires and the thing is simply AWESOME in the snow (but it is small and cheap).

I live in Boston and make at least a couple of winter trips to Canada. I want AWD + snow tires. I also want it to be a roomy premium wagon that gets me 40mph in the HWY.

It exists, just bring the damn thing over.

I agree! Give the consumer a choice. It's not like they would have to engineer the car from scratch. I'm thinking about ordering a new '07 Bluetec, and also considering finding a loaded low mileage CDI. If the 4Matic were headed here for '07, I'd be at the dealer placing an order for the '07 in a hearthbeat.

Owing to the new standard equipment listed above, we have further streamlined our packaging. Based on the successful E-Class Premium Package, launched with MY06, two "premium packages" will be offered - P1 and P2 - each of which offers significant value and includes options with proven customer demand.

-Keyless Go
-Heated Headlamp Washers
Sport/Luxury Strategy
In addition to the enhancements planned for the upcoming MY07 Facelift, we would like to announce the start of a new E-Class Sport/Luxury product strategy, similar to the successful C-Class strategy. This strategy allows you the flexibility to tailor you inventory to meet growing customer demand for more aggressive and sportier styling. The E350W, E350W4, E550W and E550W4 will adopt a 2-prong approach (Sport and Luxury) while the E320 BLUETEC and E350S4 will remain exclusively Luxury.
The E-Class Sport Sedan will be based on the 333 Sport Package launched late last year. This package, which is no-charge for MY07 Facelift, features key "sport" elements including 18" 10-twin spoke wheels, sport rear bumper with dual exhaust tailpipes, lowered sport suspension, blue-tinted glass, Black-Birdseye Maple Wood, and matte chrome surrounding the gearshift with a white-gauged instrument cluster.
The E-Class Luxury sedan will be similar to the current, stylish model commonly seen today. Key "luxury" features include 17" wheels (for the E350 and E550 models only), an elegant rear bumper, comfort suspension, green-tinted glass, and Burl Walnut Wood complementing the well-dressed interior.
Exterior
The following colors are new:
-Arctic White (650) replaces Alabaster White (960)
-Jade Green (300) replaces Everest Green (816)
Wheels: For MY07, the E350 models will receive a new 7-spoke 17" design. Additionally, the E63 AMG models will receive a new 5-spoke 18" design. Please note: the E320 BLUETEC, E550 Models, and the Sport Package will retain their current wheels.
Also new for MY07 E-Class are Chrome wheels (R86). These wheels will be based on the same 5-spoke 17" design seen on the MY06 E500, and will be available as an option on select Luxury Models only. Please see the Product Highlights section for wheel updates.
Other
E-Class Station Wagon:
In our continuing efforts to streamline our portfolio and provide you with products which support your market requirements, we will offer just a single variant of the E-Class Station Wagon: E350S4. The E350S and E550S4 will no longer be offered for MY07.
Additionally, the Power Tailgate (890) becomes standard equipment.

I think this is exactly what the E needed.

stevec32
Well I'm bringing this one up to the top with comments.

1) E350 is now priced at $50550 + S&H with all the equipment listed up top.
2) 333 sport package on E350 really doesn't appear to free as it requires the purchase of either P1 or P2 package per the dealer (the actual brochure doesn't show that requirement).
3) Heated seats, Nav, BIX, Keyless Go, are appearently not available as stand alone options.
4) Two new leather interiors ($1540) are available for the 333 sport package: Black with either cognac brown or sahara beige (ref step 2).
