minor W211 design flaw
Anyone notice pass side outside mirror has part of the view cut off from the A pillar? I'm 6' so the seat is nearly all the way back.
No biggy but it is a bit odd

EURO convex mirror glasses
MARK CUMMINS....how much are the EURO convex mirror glasses and are they heated mirrors? Are they easy to install? I don't even know how to pop the OEM mirrors out.

As Steve Installed Power FOLDING mirrors with the Euro Convex glass on my W211 with a few other NEEDED goodies
Yes The Mirrors are Heated..
Install is Very Easy..5 Min MAX..just remove the Outer Mirror covers and replace the mirror glass
The Mirror Glasses are NOT a US item..ONLY in Europe...They Work GREAT!!

I didn't know those existed. Since I can't get the folding mirrors, I'll have to ask Steve for a quote on these convex mirrors. I have a problem seeing when I'm leaned back as well.

You CAN get the folding mirrors, they may just not "auto fold" for pre '03 build dates. With the folding mirrors comes a new mirror switch and you have to press the switch to open and close the mirrors rather than have them automatically fold. I got the folding mirrors and convex, definately a good investment. I have a 1/03 build date and the auto fold feature was not in the instrument cluster, even after using Star Diagnose.

For all thos ethat are interested in these EURO mirrors; look at your passenger mirror and then at your driver side. See the difference in magnification. Going EURO you will have the passenger side magnification on the drivers side as well. It will take some getting used to but it is helpful.

The EURO Convex glass are Convex on the outer 1/3..where as the USA mirror glass is Magnified on the Right Mirror glass..With the statement Objects in mirror are closer than you may think..lol
With the EURO glass on BOTH sides the Blind spot is gone..It Works!

Yes Steve sells the Power FOLDING Mirrors...
The Power Mirrors require a New Mirror switch that has a Extra Button to fold the mirrors..The Door panel must be removed to replace the Mirror switch

excuse my ignorance, but if i'm understanding this correctly, I can purchase the folding mirrors, but will not have the folding mirror capability from the console, but instead initiate the folding via a switch?

And yes, I don't miss the etchings on the passenger side.

Correct, with an 11/02 build date you most likely will not have auto folding capability. Rumor has it pre '03 build dates didn't have it in the instrument cluster, mine is 1/03 and it did not have it either. Even with Star Diagnose, it could not be done - you do need Star Diagnose to set the auto fold. To get the auto fold on pre '03 builds requires a new instrument cluster from the dealer - big price to pay for auto fold.
Instead of the mirror buttons you have now (one right, one left) - those get replaced with a new switch. One side becomes the mirror adjustment (2 buttons) and the other side is the fold button. Instead of 2 buttons currently, you will have 3 buttons (OEM Euro version - not aftermarket). I don't have pics of the button, but there is a recent post of mine with the mirror folded.
where did you get your's at? From steve? where does the button go? i believe my car is 11/02 build. do you have any pics?
I only have driver side Euro glass and it makes a world of difference, no more looking over the left shoulder to change lanes - you can trust the mirror.
