Engine oil update
P-B-18.00/17d APR06: MB approved MB229.51 (Mobil 1 ESP Formula M 5W-40) engine oil which will become available in the U.S. May 15, 2006. Specific details are not given however I assume it exceeds MB229.3 & MB 229.5 and covers gas or diesel.
Vehicles with MB Maintenance System can use MB229.5 or MB229.51 engine oils; vehicles with FSS or FSS+ can use MB229.3 or MB229.5 or MB229.51 engine oils.
