A/C Failure? 06 E350

My A/C unit seems to have died on me.

It is making plenty of noise like the fans are blowing but the air entering the cabin is very minimal not too mention not cold at all, even in the highest manuel setting.

Anyone else have this problem?

I have called the dealer and it goes in Wednesday. This does scare me as
this makes three of four MB's I have owned now that have had issues with A/C............

Why should it scare you?? Its just a possible repair. On the other hand I have owned 5 MB's since 1998 and none have had any A/C problems.

Isn't this a warranty item?

Yes it is....under warrenty.....

But 3 out of four with troubles......

This car has just over 5,000 miles on it and was delivered the last day of October.

My dealer is 45 minutes away and I do not think troubles even if covered under warrenty are at all convienent let alone what i expect from a new car. Any new car, not to mention a german one.

I have had much better experiences with Porsche, BMW and even HONDA....
This will probably be the last MB that my garage sees.....

I have got better things to do besides running back and forth to the dealer!

I would still like to know if anyone else has had any A/C trouble with thier E350?

Suggest P-B-83.25/76 JAN06 Blower Motor Stops Running – replaces the blower motor regulator.

I've sort of got to agree. Even if the dealer fixes the problem for free under warrenty, gives you a loaner, gives you a snack from the waiting area, and is as nice as could be and the overall experience is pleasant, theres something crappy about constantly having to go back to the dealer to have something repaired.

Here in NY, a loaded Honda Accord w/ (incredible) Nav sees the dealership once a year... for an oil change & lube, and its annual State emissions/safety inspection.

Now a Honda's NOT a Benz, but there's no excuse for a new Benz to need so many pleasant little trips to the dealer. NONE. Its either crappy engineering, crappy lowest bidder parts suppliers, or no one at the helm who gives a crap. To stumble and fall so far, so fast and so hard is stupefying.

So far only the owners of MB vehicles know about all the problems intimately, because if the rest of the people ever found out, first there'd be no MB car resales, and then no new car sales at all. There is a lot of good Iron out there to choose from, they just don't have the Tri-Star Halo yet.

06 E350 here, no A/C problems, not even with the blower regulator.

I'm sure it will be an easy fix.

Tell them to come and pick the car up. Tell them its a brand new piece of **** and that you would rather not waste your valuable time driving an hour to have repairs made on a new 60k car. Talk to the service manager, see what happens. Then tell them you need a loaner.

Sorry to hear of your trouble. I don't see why this surprises you given this statement.

I understand your frustration. Over a 5 year period my E-Class spent about as much time at the Dealer's as it did in my garage. I now own a Lexus and a BMW and have had zero problems with both of them.

Update...

Dealer says nothing mechanicly wrong. Solution was to reboot the computor. Let's hope it doesn't crash again!

A/C Failure again.....

Well driving yesterday A/C failed again for the second time. No air from center dash vents. I called the dealer and they said to bring it in again. This sucks. As I said my dealer is a ways away and this is quite an inconvenience. The car was in the shop at the first of the month. I only drive this car maybe once a week so there is really only about a tank of gas burned since the last visit.

Does anyone have any suggestions on getting this fixed? Does anyone have the contact for the MBUSA customer service person for California?

To be honest I am very disgusted with this and would just as soon have them take this car back....... All the way back to GERMANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any recomendations?

Something IS mechanically/elctronically wrong. Lazy Service department. They need to do a little homework.
