I just received a call from my dealer, Higginbotham Mercedes, Jackson, Mississippi. Mercedes Benz notified them earlier this afternoon that the '03 E Class would be officially released on Friday, August 16. My dealer said that the cars would begin to leave Jacksonville, Florida that day to be delivered to the dealers. My car was ordered on the first day MB started accepting orders and was built on June 10. It will be in the first group being released. I will take photos and post as soon as I get it.

i dont know high. i doesnt seem like they would release them. Prices are to come on the 20th...and cars come on the 20th. You might be right, but they might delay them for a couple of days, my dealer said, they mostly delay the firt bathces, but anyway, what did get, if u got an e500 with obs. blk w/ stone leather, god bless you!!! But take pics at the dealer, thats when they are really clean

ehmmm, many people have driven the new CLK since a couple days ago. Why does mercedes release the CLK first then the new E???? As I remembered, the new E was introduced first back in March if I am not wrong. Is there a possibility that east coast has a sooner released date than in california especially Los Angeles?? Or the realease date is for all states???

I have coming a 320 Black with stone leather, phone/multiCD, sunroof [not panoramic], rear window shade [especially needed in the Mississippi Delta]... I don't know the price, but I will get it at sticker. As I said earlier, my dealer told me today that he received a call from Mercedes advising that there will be a "hot release" [and I don't know what "hot release" means] on August 16. He also said the first batch of cars would be shipped out from Jacksonville on the 16th. So we shall see what we shall see. I will take the pics at the dealership as you suggested so that it will be clean. I have been waiting for a year on this car.... I hope it is everything---and more---that I have heard it to be.

The CLK is probably out first because the platform is the same as the W203 C-Class and so much of the CLK's parts were already in production. Everything except the engines are brand new parts for the W211 The 2003 CLK CD based nav system is carried over from the W203 while the W211 nav will be DVD based when it comes.

I hope your right! I don't have one on order yet but I can't wait to see them. Maybe this time next year I'll have one.

By the way do you live in Jackson or outside? I'm on the the Gulf Coast in Long Beach. Is Higginbotham a good dealer? Down here Bert Allen treats us good and is always willing to deal after the first wave of new vehicles are sold. Got a real good deal on our 02 ML last year with factory delivery.

I have purchased 4 Mercedes from with Thomas Townsend at Higginbotham Mercedes Porche [formerly Blackwell Imports]
[phone 662/956-4211]. He has always treated me very fairly. Of course, there will be no 'deals' on the new E-Class when they are first released because the demand will far exceed the supply. However, I am pleased with the deal in any event, as well as the excellent service. I live in the Mississippi Delta, and even thought it is over 100 miles, when I have a breakdown, they send a car carrier to get the car and return it---all at no additional charge for transport. I will post the pics of my car as soon as it is here.

well, im aying that because the 2003 e-classes are changng. IM nt sure what you are reffering t what, but if you are talkng about only 28 percnt of all e-classes only beng e500's its not the consumers decision, mbz wll make whatever thy want, and i guess are choosng a limited amount of e500's being built this year, it will change for 204 most likely

Now when you say August 16th, do you mean this for just your state or all of US? The reason I ask this is because I called my dealer up today (August 16th in the afternoon), and there's still no set release date.

I was at my dealer today too and he said the same thing. Has no idea when the release date would be. I couldn't even get a (big) brochure yet!

My dealer in Oregon told me that he will get pricing on the 20th, And i think that the car will be released on that day too.

Whats the specs on your car? I think the 500 with the pano roof and comand will suit me just fine. Too many options will amount to nothing when trading it in. I still can't decide what color though .

TezTa I ordered an E500 with the pano roof, E!, rear sun shade, HK sound, and CD changer. My dealer said the Command system is not available til January.

I visited my dealer today and they have now and on sale 4 new E's and 3 CLK's! It looks like they decided to release them at the same time! Although the cheapest e they have is an E320 and it is $59,000!!!!!!!! That struck my mind and wondered why they are sooo expensive now??????? Oh well, I'm just happy they're finally here!

man, i looked up harville in the atlas, but it wasnt there, so i located every dealer on mbusa in ohio. It was quite amazing only 13 dealers!! in the whole state......but none of them had any prices, and no one had any cars. They all said the last day of te month, in san diego, they are coming ot on the 20th....

My dealership is located in Akron, Ohio. There is absolutely nothing in Hartville! Here you have to drive 45 min. to get to any dealership! But anyway, the Mercedes Dealer in Akron is Ganley Mercedes-Benz. They now have only 1 2003 E320 and still have the same 2003 CLK's. Visit their website at www.ganleysuperstore.com and then click on New Inventory,and then when the page loads click under make and on Mercedes-Benz. Hope this helps!!!
