Safety Recall
It states:
DaimlerChrysler AG, the manufacturer of Mercees Benz vehicles, had decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model year 2003-2005 E-Class, 2003-2005 SL-Class, 2006 CLS-Class vehicles equipped with Sensotronic Brake Control (SBC)
The SBC Brake system in certain E-Class, SL-Class and CLS vehicles, in certain instances, may shift to the hydraulic back up mode due to loosening of the ground wire harness connection over time. In the hydraulic back up mode, the driver has braking power sufficient to stop the vehicle, although greater brake pedal pressure is required and the brake pedal travel will be noticeably longer which could lead to a vehicle crash.
Your authorized Mercedes Benz dealer had available a bracket and replacement ground wire that it will install on your vehicle's SBC pump unit to correct the situation described above by preventing loosening of the new ground wire harness connection.

Thanks Konigstiger for keeping me ahead of the curve.
BTW, Phoenix Motors did it without any questions and did a beautiful job of it.
I should also say that they gave me my free oil change at the one year mark.
