Tariq,
I'm at a loss for ideas. I would probably change the stop lamp switch as was suggested earlier and watch the car for a couple of weeks. If the warning still appeared, I would check all three pad sensor's connectors to make sure they're not loose. If you can find it, WIS document AH42.10-P-0003-01A has info pertaining to the pad sensors.
Regards,
paul....

Yes I took my car to the dealers four times about the problem (BRAKES VISIT WORKSHOP).
The malfunction would not retain the information on the problem....this would reset after 15 minutes when the car was switched off.
The dealer fited new censors, wiring loom and removed the ((50% brake wear censor which by the way should be done on recalls because this can cause interference on the radio when the rotor cuts the 50% censor)).
FINALY on the fourth visit I drove to the workshop with warning BRAKES VISIT WORKSHOP still visuable on the malfunction display.....the technician pluged the workshop computer (STAR DIAGNOSE) printed out the report and showed me that it was a faulty brake light switch.
Took just over 30 minutes and I was driving the car back home.
Problem solved......no more malfunction 3 months later plus 2000 miles.

Leslie,
It's good hearing from you again. By the way, I replaced my rear pads/rotors last week with confidence because of the info you furnished me some time ago with dealing with the SBC -- thanks!

there is a tab you need to squeeze on the sensor you have pictured and then you turn it approximately 90 degrees and it'll come out. dont forget when you install the sensor you need to make sure the tan/white tab that gets compressed is fully extended (you can press it dont and hear the notches when its going down, but make sure its fully extended). The stop lamp switch should fix that cluster message 99 percent of the time.

This gonna sound a little dumb but you sound like you are kinda at the end of your rope. Very similiar thing happened to me with the light. I called the service guy and he shot this out instantly, "You bumped the emergency brake with your foot. Sometims when getting in the car, your left foot brushes that emergency brake and she sets off the sensors." Told me to make sure emergency brake was ALL the way up and drive for a few mins. WHAMMO....light GONE. Sure hope this works....you have been through a lot. Good Luck.

Hi Tarek
Try to remove the wires that connect the brake pads to the disc. they are small wires that u bought for 10 AED.
When I changed my brake pads and turned on the car, I received that message with beeping sound, then I removed those wires and it is all gone.
Take the car to Dubai even if it is imported they will fix it for you because this is a recall and they had to change it. I tool mine to Sharjah they refused to fix it, then I wrote a complaint message and sent it to the GM of Dubai CCing their Customer Relations. It was unbeleivable the service manager called me (he is German) and appologised and told me to get him the car.
They fixed many things for free and did all the recalls, the whole job was worth around 15,000 AED (more than 4000 US Dollars). they changed the brake bump for 10000 (around 2500 UD dollars).

Inspect the PB cable for evidence of chafing in the area of the fuel tank retaining strap (both sides of drive shaft). Vibrations due to driving create a relative motion between the PB cable and the fuel tank retaining strap. In extreme cases, the sheathing of the cable may become chafed allowing water to enter the cable assembly which may lead to corrosion of the cable.

Again, Worldwide MB Maintenance Training Problems
MB needs to assess its' maintenance. Maybe it is just too big a problem to keep up with sophisticated computer dominated automobiles. But they make them, so they are supposed to be able to fix them. Someone needs to take charge of maintenance. Should we do a J.D. Power maintenance survey?

If only they'd put in a USB port and make the software updates downloadable...

Sounds like you are a little ticked at the stupid & second rate electronics/software. I am too. I love the way the car feels and looks, but its in the damn shop for idiotic problems far, far too often. The glow is starting to come off the vehicle's ownership experience.

Well, I got that exact message as well.
Took it to the dealer. They said it's the SBC High Pressure Reservoir, which is not covered by the 10 years warranty. (Only the SBC Pump is covered).
Paid 1100$ to replace the reservoir, and the message is cleared now.
I drive an E500 05' with 180k km on it.
