Electronic Trunk Closer

I am about to order a new 2007 E and this option is available.

Question:

Is it worth it or is it only for show?

I ordered it on my '07. "Only for show" IS "worth it"

I ordered it only after my salesguy told me I'd be crazy not to get it - well guess what - he was right. I will always order it in the future.

I love it. I use the trunk a lot more than I ever use to, just so I can press the big red glowing button. I also like not having to slam the trunk or touch the metal which is either just waxed or more likely dirty.

I was on the line about purchasing my E55. But when I realized it had the electronic trunk closer, that sealed the deal for me... I love that option.... Keyless go and trunk closers are great options.

Hahhaa.... the car was 10k more than what i wanted to spend... So i was still on the ropes.... but then as soon as I found out it was optioned with the trunk closer, it made my decision a little bit easier as I have always wanted to get the electronic trunk closer on my other cars!

IMHO at $510, it's useless and expensive. If you don't order this option, the trunk still completely springs opens by itself - just push the trunk button on the key fob. I use my hand to close it.

Do you remember the last time you folded down your rear seat?

For a 60k+ vehicle, an extra $510 for this option is not going to break the bank.... To each there own I guess....

The trunk closer is awesome!! I wish there were automatic door closers too...then people wouldn't slam closed the car door anymore.
