MB USA Website

This is such a poor resource. When you send an email question you rarely get a timely reply. The answers are vague. Most of the time they tell you to go see your dealers for the answers. Why can't they tell you what models and in what configurations will be available in the next year? They obviously know. Why the secrecy? Someone needs to re-evaluate their customer assistance program.

LOL

It is true, all true: the MBUSA website is most often VERY lacking. And it has been this way for at least four years that I know of.

You are probably the 15,000th human being who has come to this realization; the 1500th member on this site to have done so....

Still it is of some use.

Why do they never improve it? A very good question.

If I may, one small correction to your post:

"Someone needs to re-evaluate their LACK OF A customer assistance program."

They would be better off taking those web server computers out of their headquarters building and donate them to a local high school who will get better use out of them! If you want to experience a "poorer" resource, you should call them on the phone!

Regards,
paul....

Let me help you understant what it is all about.

SERVICE Before the sale

SERVICE During the sale

SERVICE After the sale.

Otherwise I can by from Carmax in another town and find someone who will do service. The MB is a great car,, but planes don't fly without service either. Amazing how an airline can get work done by another firm and keep flying,, race car drivers borrow parts and cars from other competitors,, but Get MB to give you info on the website. Jim

The reason why you're getting vague and general responses to E-mails is probably because the responses are canned. If you're lucky, an actual human being reads your message and selects the canned reply that she deems most appropriate. More likely, MBUSA (or their customer "service" contractor) uses a program that scans incoming E-mails for key words and sends a canned response based on the key words. If you've ever sent an E-mail to a major consumer company and gotten a totally irrelevant response, that's why. Sometimes you can force a diversion of your E-mail from a program to a human being by sustituting for letters in the subject line and the text (l1ke th1$) so that the program can't scan for key words. Of course, that's the same trick that spammers use to avoid filters, and it may just cause your message to be trashed.

MBUSA most likely figures, based upon surveys, that their web site is good enough to meet the needs of their average customer. Keep in mind that the typical user of this forum is probably younger and much more computer-literate and Internet-savvy than M-B customers in general

Half the time it is unavailable or shows errors in the browser. God forbid you wanted some nice big pictures of the cars so you can see what they look like. I wanted to see what the Macademia was going to look like on the new ML that I will be taking delivery of soon. No pictures. I actually had to search around and find the pics elsewhere. And the descriptions of some of the features are sometimes so vague, you really don't know what it means.

Besides the pricing aspect, the brochures are so much more friendly and easier to understand.

MBUSA needs to take a lesson from the "homeland" at www.mercedesbenz.com . Spend some time searching some of the European country websites, like Switzerland here ( http://www.mercedes-benz.ch/content/...iews.0001.html ). You will get the latest information on the newest of models, sometimes months before the information appears on MBUSA. Also the "colorators" allow you to see multiple views of various color model exteriors with a 360 degree view and the ability to have wide angle or close-up pictures. The same is available for the interior options also. The example above is for the 2007 CL, which has been available on this site for weeks now. By the way, even Jaguar on their new XK site has unbelievable exterior and interior graphics giving the viewer the ability to change colors and interiors with mutiple views.

Well the cars go on sale in those countries long before here so it only makes sense that those websites have the new model information first. That said, I agree they could spruce the layout up a little and just a general sense that everyone in Jersey is on the same page would be nice.

MBUSA isn't going to tell you what's coming "next" (model) year for fear you will wait it out and not buy what's on sale now...while they are worse than others in this regard, it's a pretty smart business practice, i think.
