e550 is here
my new e550 is to arrive at the dealership at the end of this week. Hopefully,mb has resolved all issues (i.e. tranny rough shifts ,brake noise, etc.)with this new 07 .I'll be trading 06 e350 that required 2 trips to dealership to fix transmission adaptations. The brakes should be fine since sbc is gone. I'm sure hope the transmission has been perfected for 07. comments welcome.

I didn't think we would see any in the USA until fall. Did you order yours, or are you grabbing the first one available? I ordered mine over 5 weeks ago, and they still haven't even scheduled a build date. I am not expecting delivery until the end of September.

it was the first one that the dealership was going to get. We modifed that order about 6 weeks ago. So to answer your question it was both-the 1st e550 just changed to equipment/colors I wanted.

My salesman called today and informed me that mb will not release any e550s till 072407. He said that they recieved 2 07 e350s today and they were at the port with the e550. He said the epa may be holding them back since the e class is new to this engine. Anyway i'll have to wait till I can tell anyone about this car.

I'm still puzzled about how the grille on the '07 varies from the '06. It looks somehow taller (correct?) but is it really, or is it actually narrower? If it is really taller, did M-B manage that by sinking it deeper into the new bumper, as opposed to raising the hood? The latter would involve sheet metal and would be expensive for a mid-cycle freshen-up. I really can't tell from the pix I've seen why the grille looks different. Anyone care to take a tape measure to the grille of an '07 and post its width/height at the widest/tallest points?

Last time I talked to my sales guy he said they where less than a few days away and this was at the end of june. The E 320 CDI is being held back until october because the new fuel standard doesn't go in effect until then.
