'06 CDI with first error message
I have ~8000 miles on the car, and as I was leaving a stoplight today, I got my first "Visit Workshop" message. The battery symbol was displayed with the visit workshop message. I didnt experience any difference in the SBC during my drive home. Could this just bee a bad alternator or battery? Anyone experienced this before?

I have 60,000 miles on my 2005 E320 CDI and have just had two service vists to fix this same problem. On the 1st visit it was the voltage regulator on the alternator. MB paid for it because I think it fell under a service campaign. The same message came back a week later and it was determined the battery was going bad. $275 dollars later for a new battery and all seems well. Batteries down here in Houston only seem to last 2-3 years due to the heat so I was not surprised.

I spoke too soon. The "visit workshop" with battery symbol is back on again. Any ideas

Thank's for the information - I hope it's something like what you experienced. If there is good news in this situation, I'll be getting it fixed on 31 July. I'll be sure to post the results here.
BTW, I lied about the price of diesel here, it's now ~1.20 Euro/Liter.
