Time to tint windows, question and pix request.
Looking to see Brilliant Silver with different shades of tint.
I don't like dark tint, but looking to cool down the interior and enhance the appearance of the car.
Can you guys post pix of your tinted windows? Also when the w211 come tinted from the factory, how many % is that tint?

what color is your interior?
Also mercedes doesnt "tint" from the factory, they add blue smoked glass to some packages on the E class as well as a number of other models, if your thinking to tint that light, then its not worth doing

it is UV protection but it is still darker then the non smoked glass
and yeah as Newton says check your local laws for legal limits, there are a number of folks on board here that are under... those limits

I'm in CA, no limit to how much the 3 back windows are but you can't have tint on the 2 fronts period.
20% is a little too dark for my taste. Thinking maybe 35% in the rear and 50%-60% in the front. A fix it ticket is only $10 bucks retinting the front should be around $50 bucks if I ever need to go that route.
Wonder how dark the E39 BMW 5 series are. My E39 has a the perfect tint from factory also on silver and charcoal.

That's perfect, only available choice I that I have is either 35% and 50% and then some darker shade, I think 35% rear and 50% in the front is what I'm going to do. Thanks

I have charcoal interior, cops up north are pretty **** about front tinted windows. I may not even tint the front at all. I think 35% is penty dark.

I've had to take it out completeley on my 2000 E-430 but it affected my sound and My buddy jsut did his 2005 E500 and they put some soft matirial on his so it does not scratch the tint when the window goes up and down.

The tint shop that I use (5 cars up to now) have only installed the tint and I've had zero problems except on one car. That was my 2003 Saab 9-3 Vector. That car got scratches on the driver side front door. They replaced the tint and put little pads on something inside the door. Problem solved. But I've never had a problem on my E-Class

Are you sure they did not install little pads on your current E.
I went to my regular tinted place and they told me they need to put pads.
My friend tinted his windows in the other place for his 2005 E and they put pads on his as well.
