drove an 07 E350 today...

Drove the facelift model, platinum blue with cashmere interior. I like the new beige, very nice. It only had P1 on it, the new wheels are very nice... more euro looking. The facelift looks much more aggressive compared to the non-facelift, much better in my opinion. The drive was slightly firmer and the steering felt much more precise and weighted than the 06 which feels more numb. The braking had much better feel and had bite immediately when touching the pedal. Pedal feel was also firmer, more similar to my BMW. Transmission was not smooth, feels jerky under hard acceleration. I always felt the E500 shifted smoother so I will hold my breath till i drive the 07 E550. I think its a welcomed change and the digital climate control is much nicer looking!

Good that they got rid of brake-by-wire

The '07 facelift is growing on me too, big time especially since there is more value in the car too. I'm also loving the fact that the brake by wire system has been dropped.

Dr. Z must be kicking some you-know-what now that he's done with Chrysler.

I believe they use exactly the same transmission.

And I think they change the name of SBC to break-by-wire, too much recall with that crap

The 07 E has regular hydraulic brakes like the every other Benz except the SLR and SL. The electronic system is gone completely.
