Long wheel base new E-class
If in fact there is going to be a longer wheelbase version of the current E Class which merely offers more rear leg room rather than additional seating that would surprise me - although with the current computer aided design and robot production capabilities it would be a lot simpler today to make such a variation than in the past.
I'm not sure if the "Pullman" E classes of the past were made on the same line as the standard E classes, but I suspect that they were either made on a separate line or pulled off at some point for the modifications. Today they could be made on the same line with much less difficulty - or I suspect they could well share the Maybach line which will probably be underutilized.
