**NEW PICS** AMG Kit with Exhaust, 19” Modulare Wheels, Lowered etc…

So here’s the finished product with the 19” Modulare Wheels and the full AMG kit / As some of you read in my last post on this subject, the original goal was an AMG Sport look with dual single tipped exhausts but once the Sport bumper was fitted (Evosport) we realized that there wasn’t enough room between the factory non-amg mufflers and the back of the bumper to make the bends necessary to make “tips” look just right. So at that point I was faced with having to source AMG mufflers and in the end, ended up with a set of quads in that they were a lot easier to find vs. the dual singles. I bought the black plastic lower bumper piece (between the tips) to use as a template to make the cuts necessary on the AMG Sport bumper to fit the larger tips. And in that that black piece of plastic has an “inner lip” to it you would never know that the bumper has been cut.

While I struggle a bit with the fact that the car is basically, at least from the outside, a dead ringer (make that copy) of an E55 (sans the brakes) …I can’t argue with the results…the car is stunning and I love it!

Hope you enjoy the pics

Chris

Love that rear end! Pics were worth the wait!

Do you have close-up pics of the cut-out and diffuser?

Any plans to lower it any more?

You know I dont think so...it typically is sitting a wee bit lower than what you see in the pics...damn airmatic (dont get me wrong I love it)...gets a mind of its own sometimes...car was running in those pics albeit set to S2 and the the lowest height setting

Funny thing for some reason a couple weeks back right after I put the wheels on, I got looking at the car and it looked "higher" than it used to be...so I went back to TWS, they agreed and brought the car down a bit more...but the car was dumped (back tire was about 75% tucked into the fender well, but no rubbing)...I lived with it like that for two days, tried to convince myself I liked it like that...but in end it was just too low for me...back to TWS they agreed it was a bit too low so we brought it up just a tad to where it is now...and I like it...I of course reserve the right to change things in the future but for now I'm pleased with the height

Everything body and exhaust was simple bolt on...

So all the parts necessary for the front (front bumper, center mesh, left and right side mesh and the fog lights) retail for about $1911 the rear is around $1300 or so and the side skirts maybe around $1000 / Just going off of memory on the sides and rear (I’m sure someone will jump in here and give the accurate numbers) / So figure just about $4200 list for all the body parts…and then count on a 20% discount from there / Paint and install will be a couple thousand and the E55 exhaust is a direct bolt on and will run you, on average, anywhere from $800 used to $1400 new…when the dust settles you can call it a $6000 to $6500 project

Costs can be driven down by augmenting used parts with new…parts that you can find if you do some hunting are typically…front bumper, front fogs and exhaust / You can also shop around for the body work…I think shopped correctly it can be done for around $5k (just my guess)

Hope this helps

no but I'll take some for you...the black piece is about $80 and once the bumper is cut and that piece is installed you would never know that the bumper wasn't orginally an E55 bumper...it works out very nice / Oh and the E55 mufflers give the car a nice throaty tone...nothing obnoxious…just a bit more authoritative

Absolutely drop dead georgeous. And not many better places to cruise with it than the OC.

I'm assuming that'a panoramic roof...but looks like it could actually be a black or charcoal paint job. Just got me to thinking, has anyone see a two tone E?

It is all OEM AMG / Basically an E55 front and side skirts…however (this is where people can understandably get confused)…the rear bumper started life as an AMG sport bumper (built to accommodate dual single tipped exhausts)….vs. an AMG E55 bumper (built to accommodate dual, dual tipped exhausts).

Note: the black plastic piece between the tips on the E55 rear (can be seen on my car, but not in these pics)...is simply held on by double sticky tape / some people like it and leave it on and some dont so they pull it off

Here are some pictures for comparison…to help clarify:

AMG Sport

AMG E55

Turn Signal Bulbs

Your car looks awesome. You need to replace your turn signal bulbs to silver bulbs to get rid off that egg yolk effect.

Thanks for the kind words...they've all been changed...may just be the way the light is hitting one of the lenses in the pics?

Thank you...

Dont want the engine...I mean I do but I dont...could have bought an E55 when I got my 350...but coming off of two 545's that got me into enough trouble...the E55 would have not been a good choice for me / I'm a mellow driver 99.9% of the time...however I do have my moments and with an E55 engine on tap...I would simply do stupid things on occasion / with the 350 I like to say that it has enough power to get me out of trouble but not so much that I'm tempted to get into trouble...besides for my daily commute here in SoCal the 350 is perfect

Interesting. For some reason looks a little choppy on the C. Probably because of the longer lines of the 211 body... seems to handle the contrast much better. Both great looking autos though. Congratulations again.
