2007 Armrest question

I was looking at some pictures of the 2007 E-class. it appears that he armrest has changed back to the padded one that opens and closes, like it used to be. can anyone confirm this?

This question has been asked and answered numerous times. All E-Classes have that arm rest except for cars made for the US that comes with roll top arm rest with the bottle holders. Apparently, the pop up cup holders were not good enough for the size of drinks that US people put in their car.

That doesn't quite answer the gentleman's question. The answer, based on other pictures I have seen, is that "the '07 USA models will continue to have the tambour-door center console, unlike other world markets, which continue to get the butterfly-door center console." Correct?

Most of the discussion of the tambour-style console, when it first came out, assumed that M-B introduced it to save money. Those of us who would never drink anything in our cars (well, except maybe water from a bottle) missed the point that M-B was responding to North American customer demand for larger cup/bottle holders, not just "decontenting" some more. It still seems like a poor tradeoff to me, but then I don't have a 50-mile commute.

Does that not answer the question?

The gentleman asked if there was a change in the console between the '06 and '07 model years. Saying what the US models "have" and what models elsewhere in the world "have" is ambiguous as to whether we're talking about '06 or '07 models. That's all. No biggy.
