W211 in the shop, B200 CDI as a replacement

Well, At 8000 miles, I had to put the W211 into the shop for an error code. It's been there for 2 days, and so far, the German Mechanic (Nederlassung Stuttgart at the Mercedes museum) has narrowed the problem down to a loose wire. They have to find the place where it's loose and fix it (from what the tech told me, it's a 4m long wire so it might take a day)

Anyhow, they gave me a B200 CDI as a loaner.

I am REALLY impressed with this vehicle. It only has 2000 miles on it, but I'm already averaging 4.7l/100km (~50mpg). The car has a 6 speed manual, and a 2.0l 4 banger. It is a very quiet engine compared to all the other 4 bangers, I hear running around Stuttgart.

Overall, the car has very tight steering, and the ride is pretty firm, not stiff, but firm. I am also impressed at how much better the car handles in the round abouts than my W211 (granted there is a huge weight difference)

It is a pretty basic model, the car only has power windows on the two front windows, the rear passangers have to manually put the windows up and down.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if I could have purchaced a US spec B200 CDI instead of my W211 CDI, I would probably have to think long and hard. The MPG's, and ~$20K less price tag would make it hard to not buy this car. Anyone coming over here to Germany and has the chance to rent a B200 CDI, I would highly recommend it. I only wish they sold this car in the US. I know it would sell.
